The DB UMA Kasumi is a pattern-specific soft bait designed with the Kasumigaura lake system in mind, developed with guidance from shore angler Takuya Baba. He sought to create a realistic feel through subtle, lifelike vibrations and a convincing silhouette.
We thoroughly examined the effectiveness of the scissor arms found on the renowned "Scissor Comb" soft bait, a proven performer in shirasu (baby fish) patterns. The result is optimized balance and natural micro-vibrations generated by the two pairs of scissor arms.
The slender body and vertically-mounted ribbon tail create a rolling action, transmitting subtle vibrations from the body to the tip of the tail, enhancing its presence.
The body is made from a non-salt material, realistically replicating the transparency characteristic of shirasu.
While compatible with jig heads and drop shot rigs, pairing it with a jig head of 0.9g or more allows anyone to easily recreate the micro-vibration action of shirasu simply by performing a curve fall. The scissor arms catch water, causing the entire body to vibrate minutely.
The DB UMA Kasumi possesses natural appeal and, through careful color selection and rigging, can imitate bottom-dwelling creatures such as shrimp and gobies. This makes it a versatile weapon for various situations when you need to entice a bite.
