The Daiwa 23 Exist SF 2000SS-P represents a new pinnacle in super-finesse spinning reel technology. Designed for anglers demanding millimetre-precise control, this reel transcends traditional finesse fishing. Daiwa didn't choose their flagship Exist reel for this challenge by accident; they chose it to push boundaries.
BEYOND THE LIMIT 1: BODY DOWNSIZING
The Exist SF boasts a significantly downsized body compared to general-purpose models. This drastic reduction in size and weight was achieved by maximizing the strength characteristics of the monocoque body. The palm-sized body also improves feathering performance.
BEYOND THE LIMIT 2: SPOOL SHORTENING
Only the necessary line capacity for the intended line class was retained, resulting in a dramatically shorter spool. This contributes to weight reduction and compactness, while simultaneously enhancing drag release performance. The smaller line release angle reduces line resistance through the line roller, further enhancing the smooth release of ATD Type-L, which is specialized for light lines.
BEYOND THE LIMIT 3: MAIN SHAFT CHANGING
The main shaft has been downsized, and the ball bearing at the rear end of the pinion (used in the AirDrive shaft) has been omitted, further reducing weight. High-precision collars, equivalent to those used in the AirDrive shaft, support the main shaft ensuring a smooth and quiet retrieve.
BEYOND THE LIMIT 4: MAGSEALED REDUCING
MagSealed is applied only to the pinion area, balancing lightweight design with adequate water and dust protection for the intended fishing styles.
BEYOND THE LIMIT 5: MAX DRAG CHANGING
The maximum drag force is set at 3kg to allow for fine adjustments within the drag range frequently used in finesse fishing.
